Burning, burning and burning…..! The continuous burning of fossil fuels in automobiles is the picture of this modern world. Results! As everybody knows POLLUTION!! GLOBAL WARMING!! GREENHOUSE EFFECT!! GAS EMISSION!! , etc, etc, etc…But there can be an alternate substitute to it. Thanks to Bio-diesel—–A hope for the future.
Bio-diesel is an alternative and renewable fuel derived from the seeds of a unique tree called “Jatropha curcas “. It is prepared by a process called as Trans Esterification which is done by treating glycerin and fatty acids in a controlled environment. The bio-diesel obtained is then blended or mixed with diesel in the ratio of 80% to 20%. Blending of bio diesel increases the efficiency of the fuel such as the power, ignition, temperature, etc.
Bio-diesel has very low emissions of carbon monoxide. It works in a unique cycle on CCC as closed carbon cycle. Wondering about what’s that? Well it means that all co2 gas that comes out of the vehicle exhaust is absorbed by the plants and trees and the green belts. Hence the co2 rate gets consumed or decreased relatively to a much larger extent.
Bio-diesel has been accepted by many nations as a possible alternative fuel which can be implemented on a much commercial basis. In India states like chattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh has taken interest in exaggerating and amplifying the use of bio-diesel. Chattisgarh Bio-diesel development authorities have taken initiative to plant trees of Jatropha curcas for over an area of 3000 hectares of land comprising of all waste lands and free government lands. Several R&D centers have also been set up in urban areas for researching more to improve the fuel efficiency .Even buses, cars and heavy vehicles have started operating on Bio-diesel in several parts of the country. Truly Bio-diesel can serve as a hope for the future for a world of purity and sustainable development.
